FOX LAS [02 Sep 2010|07:26pm]

ALL pairings welcome!

Do You Like To Write?

Like to write? Love any of the shows on the FOX Network? Great! There is a new challenge, called fox_las, where you write a fanfic of at least 100 words every two weeks based on a different prompt. Then they get voted on and the person with the least votes is out that week and the person with the most is safe next week. Till you have one author standing who wins! What do you win? A snazzy graphic and a $10 GC to Amazon or Barnes & Noble. You don't even need to be a GREAT writer!

... who will come out on top?

From A Point Pleasant Yahoo! Group: [21 Apr 2005|10:35pm]

Dated April 1st, posted on the website the Raleigh / Durham area's News
& Observer... It's an interview with Aubrey Dollar (Judy Kramer).

The opening paragraphs have this to say:

A week after learning that Fox had effectively canceled the
occult-themed series "Point Pleasant," Raleigh actress Aubrey Dollar was
thinking about its afterlife. On Wednesday morning, she and the rest of
the cast were shooting scenes for episodes that Fox has no plans to

"We're finishing everything because we're still airing overseas, and
also for the DVD," DOllar said by cell phone from San Diego. "A lot of
these shows -- you know, things like 'Freaks and Geeks' and
'Wonderfalls,' and these things that are pulled -- do tremendously well
on DVD."

Dollar went on in a later section of the article:

"You know, I'm still really happy for the experience, and we're still
having a lot of fun, and still working hard," Dollar said. "I mean, of
course it's a little disappointing, but these things happen, and you
move on."

Naturally, we're trying to confirm this with Richard -- a bit of an
oversight on our part *not* to ask him earlier about the fate of the
production, but... <:-) More info as we get it. Information on the expected DVD release is sketchy at best -- some places have FOX saying there we be no DVD set, others quote Marti Noxon saying there *will* be... and we've got two reports of the cast and crew working on the remaining episodes of the show through what had been the expected wrap period for a 13-episode order. So we wait and see. <:-) Bert :)

Recommendations PLEASE! [20 Apr 2005|04:50pm]

now that Point Pleasant is long gone...

...i was hoping for some replacement recommendations.

i'm the guy who devoted seven years to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the following two years searching for a show i could become faithful to.

It took that time to land on Point Pleasant, New Jersey and I was robbed after, what, six eps?

Anyways, I'm hoping to keep up with something a little less OC-ish (actually not all OC-ish) with a lil' mystery and a lil' drama and a lil' dark comedy ...

...actually that sounds like Buffy again.

So any recommendations would do. What's on?

DVDs, Yay, DVDs! [20 Apr 2005|11:44am]

From "The Sentinal" Yahoo! group:

*happy dance*

--"Did everyone else receive the nice note from
Marti Noxon, PP producer that has a tag line saying,
"Keep a look out for PP the DVD!"?"

--"Well, I was up at Stu Segall Studios last
Tuesday, and
I was told that Point Pleasant was to finish it's
day of filming last Thurday. (They also film
Mars there - which was just renewed)
Anyway, I was told that they were filming the
episodes so that the whole series could be on a
distributed in Europe.
I was there for a job interview, and the whole
was going on hiatus on Friday. - Just my luck:
always a day late and a dollar short. :-(
Anyway, that's the real info. It will be on DVD.
As to
whether it comes to the states is another matter.
Though I'm sure some dedicated Sentinel fan over
will forward copies to all of us who want one."

Point Pleasant In Canada [09 Apr 2005|11:15am]

Apparently as well as showing the "lost episodes" of Point Pleasant on The Mystery Channel in Canada, they'll also be aired on C4 Saturday the 9th at 1:00 PM and C4 Saturday 16 at 1:00 PM if any of our Candian friends could help.

fox needs their head examined [03 Apr 2005|01:42pm]

This is just my opinion but WTF is fox thinking?? the recently cancelled point pleasant and tru calling both have dedicated fan bases, as did dark angel. all three of these shows have huge fan base out cries to bring them back on the internet. throwing a new show with no name brand actors into an impossible time slot is setting the show up for a fall (point pleasant). i have no idea what happened with tru calling as it seemed to be doing well, and as for dark angel, thats a clear cut case of who the president of the station is fucking and what tv show he belongs to *cough* firefly *cough* which incidentially didnt have what it took to cut the mustard as did dark angel which was abruptly cancelled so that firefly could tale its place.

and lets look at shows that were never given a chance on fox

fastlane-actually a really great show with alot of potential, where do we stick it? friday night? wtf is that all about? nothing is going to fly on a friday night on any station. the only show right now that will have any longevity on a friday night is a reality show. primarily watched by adults who stay home. you cannot put a show geared for a teen and 20 something audience on a friday night

skin-only lasting 2 episodes it has a HUGE outcry for a return. a modern day romeo and juliet story about a porn producers daughter and a DA'S son, i see a cash cow here wtf happened?? i dont remember what time slot it started in but if it only has 2 episodes aired and this much fan outcry and cable stations fighting for the syndication rights for the "lost" episodes, i am gonna say this was another ball drop on FOX's part

but lets take a look at tonight (sundays's) line up on fox and see what they are leaving us with

7-king of the hill
7:30-malcom in the middle
8-the simpsons
8:30 arrested development
9-the simpsons (rerun)
9:30 kelsey grammar presents

arrested development has a nice size fan base watching, but we have all learned that fox dosent care about that so lets look at the numbers. (and put aside the fact that the show is being sued for copyright infingement)

the Nielsen numbers suggest that "Arrested Development" is one of the lowest rated comedies on the Big Four networks, with less than 6 million viewrs, but the producers swear the show has advocates at FOX. and fox's entertainment president Gail Berman says the show isn't going anywhere.

so is that what it takes? advocates on fox? forget what the people wanna see? its what the people running the network want? silly me i thought it was what the viewers wanted to watch. point pleasant was cancelled because of a low 4 million viewers, dark angel closed its 2nd season with just under 14 million viewers. yet fox itself is fighting to keep AD with its low 6 mil viewers. explain to me again why we are left with crap shows and reruns?? and new shows like life on a stick? *gag* are even given coverted time slots? not every show can come out of the gate with 15-20 million viewrs like DH and lost. but apparently that dosent matter anyways because they cancelled DA with 14 mil viewers

i guess its true [02 Apr 2005|08:29pm]

point pleasant cancelled

Supernatural series Point Pleasant has been cancelled after just seven episodes.

The show, from Buffy producer Marti Noxon, averaged just 4 million viewers across its run on US network FOX.

"Well, it's all true," said Noxon in a post on the official website. "We're cancelled and we're off for good... thanks to those of you who care. It's been a bumpy ride for sure. If you feel inclined you can bug Fox studios to issue the season on DVD. I know they are thinking about it - and you'd get to see all the 'lost' eps, which will be airing overseas. Again - thanks for watching. We had a blast."

The remaining five episodes will be shown on E4 in the UK later this spring

and from tv tomb

April 01, 2005

FOR YOUR INFORMATION - the news about e4 continuing point pleasant is incorrect. I rang channel4 yesterday and they said because of downloading material like bittorrent, FOX will not broadcast anymore episodes but hope to eventually sell aDVD boxset which everyone can buy 'hopefully' gaining some money out of it! E4 however still remains optomistic not to cancel it like every other channels as the UK had the most viewers and hyped it the most putting it at 9pm on Wednesday's. Its true the chances ARE slim and the only way is complaining to FOX international.
